Amanda Marie's music spark ignited years ago but exploded when having a private vocal session with American Idols’ Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. They both encouraged Amanda Marie to pursue her unique music style as a balladeer: light and airy adult contemporary with a classical flavor. Randy Jackson’s heartfelt guidance of inspiration and excitement was shared when he exclaimed that "Amanda will be ready to record after a couple of sessions with Ron Anderson, vocal coach to the stars." Kara DioGuardi inspired Amanda Marie to pursue singing and ended the private session with the supportive words "Girl, you have some pipes."
After graduating from an all-girls private high school, she left the comforts of the OC and headed for "Beantown" (Boston). Amanda Marie studied vocal performance at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory of Music, as well as at Carnegie Mellon University for a short period of time. She went on to earn a B.A. in English and a Minor in Music from California State University, Fullerton.
Currently, she's studying voice with Ron Anderson of Anderson Vocal Productions, Inc. www.ronandersonvocals.com. Ron is the entertainment industry’s “go-to guy” for Alicia Keys, Daughtry, Janet Jackson, Nelly Furtado, Sara Bareilles, Selena Gomez, Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5, Paramore, Joss Stone, Neil Diamond and oh so many more! Ron has stimulated and refined her passion for performing music enveloping her classical vocal training. Amanda Marie has also studied with Jeannie Wolff Gagne and Jill Grande Goodsell.
As Amanda Marie expands her vocal expression and range, it continues to encompass her varied ethnic background. “I was born in Spain to a military family and am of Russian Jewish and Hispanic descent. Just like my eclectic background, so are the types of musical genres that I sing and listen to. I have been influenced by the GREATS: Susan Boyle, Sara Bareilles, Eva Cassidy, Josh Groban, Indigo Girls, Harry Connick, Jr., Stephanie J. Block, Norah Jones and Ella Fitzgerald. Some of my other passions are gluten-free baking, knitting, sleeping, attending Dodger games, buying shoes to fulfill my shoe fetish and enjoying a good Malbec. Life’s too short to drink bad wine!”
Amanda Marie's hometown is Huntington Beach, CA. She currently lives in Southern California with her maltipoo dog, Harry Connick, who is her most captivated fan!
